Res sir
I am using Primary DNS -- 192.168.1.1
But there is problem in some sites such as www.trako.com, etc,
so I use the DNS as 218.248.255.162, 218.248.255.146, old one. then the sites start opning. But the problem is our DNS are changes regularly,
Alternate server -- 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220 or
8.8.4.4 or 8.8.8.8 (use anyone of these) WHICH U prefer are OPEN DNS, Which takes MUCH response time as compared to OUR DNS and we can't say to our SUBSCRIBERS to use these DNS because there may be some security issues, our SUB are useing NET banking, online transections, it may effect there security in transections..
the perfect remedy is WE ALL BSNL EMPLOYES SHOULD WORK HARD INCLUDING OUR JTO & SDOs (which provide backend support) and should take action and report to SERVER maintainess team and our DNS server should be synchronous to other DNS servers. (But in BSNL work I think it is not possible)

dear badanpreet  your comments regarding improvement of bbspeed  are valuable to all snattians but it will be fruitful when all of our friends utilise your valuable comments in improving BBservises.my heartful thanks to badan for spreading good.

For Reliability and Speed use following DNS addresses at every broadband connection.

Primary DNS -- 192.168.1.1 (giving this IP will automatically takes first BSNL DNS available through DSLAM)
Alternate server -- 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220 or 8.8.4.4 or 8.8.8.8 (use anyone of these)

Dear friends, the Broadband Speed does not alone depend upon the DNS or IP Settings.

There are multiple factors that boost speed on the Computer. Just for your knowledge and for better understanding you can note down following points and keep it in mind.

For Reliable and Speedy Internet Connection :-

1.
SNR value must be greater than 13. See DSL line parameters in Modem. If value is below than 13 then change line, vertical, DP or pair.

2. Attenuation level must be less than 40. See DSL line parameters in Modem. If value is greater than 40 then change line, vertical, DP or pair.

3. ADSL Splitter must be used on a Telephone line at subscriber premises.

4. Physical Layout of line must be in accordance with norms followed i.e, Phone Line coming from DP/Pillar Side must be first terminated at a Splitter in subscriber's home.

5. Also Before splitter there must be ----
        No Parallel Phones Connection,
        No Intercom,
        No EPBAX,
        No Joints/Cuts in Line,
        No
Conduit/Internal Wiring.
All the devices must be used after ADSL splitter.

6. For telephone and broadband connection, Avoid PVC wire and use Drop Wire (Copper) Instead.

7. Telephone Line Path should be away from Electrical Lines/Equipments/ Devices.

8. All Terminals or Connecting Points must be Clean and Rust free.

9. Proper Insulation and Tapping of Joints must be done. Don't let any joints open or loose in air.

10. Telephone wires, LAN Cables, USB cables should be tightly connected for proper flow of transmission.

11. For fast speed, LAN Cable should be preferred over Wireless Broadband and Wireless should be preferred over USB Cable for Broadband connections.

12. Check Telephone Line/Drop wire for any Cuts & Cracks and replace the same. Use single wire without any joints.

13. There must be No Noise and Disturbance in the
telephone line. Pick the phone receiver and dial 5 number digit and hear the noise if any, any good line has a complete silence.

14. If the distance (underground cable) of the subscriber's modem is more than 2 Kms from the Telephone Exchange (DSLAM) then Use only G.dmt Modulation in the modem DSL settings. Disable all other modulations.

15. Try to Use power from UPS supply for Modem's adapter to avoid fluctuations.

16. Use Modem Adapter as per the Original Current & Voltage rating given/printed on Modem. Using low voltage or current rating adapter causes DSL to become unstable.

17. PPPoE (Always ON) settings are much stable and faster than Bridge (Dial-up) settings. Even if there is High Attenuation and Low SNR the Broadband connects and works well most of the times.

18. If the Line quality is not so good or the Broadband plan or speed requirements are less than 2 Mbps
(like in the case of unlimited 256 Kbps Plan) than tell your NIB Staff to Lower the Profile of Broadband connection to 1 Mbps from 2Mbps. It will make your SNR to go up and Link stability increases.

19. You can Delete/Disable all the irrelevant PVC values in the WAN settings of the modem other than 0/35, 0/100, 0/32.

20. Use DNS or IP settings as told on the top of the article.

21. Always Enable NAT, Firewall and Default Route in the Modem configuration page.

22. Disable Automatic Updates of most of the Programs in your Computer.

23. Delete/Uninstall Unnecessary Softwares like Web Toolbars, Screensavers, Weather updates, Desktop Gadgets etc. from the computer.

24. Use Professional Anti-Virus with Internet Security suite for added protection from Malwares. As most of the speed is hogged by Viruses, Trojans, Worms, Spywares, Adwares etc. present in computer.

25.
Use Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Opera for Web Browsing which are faster, safer and reliable than Internet Explorer.

26. Install all Security and Essential updates from Microsoft if you are using Windows in your computer.

27. Use Download Manager for Downloading Files rather than using inbuilt windows traditional downloading and saving files. As the Download Manager uses specific technology which boost speed many times (i.e, Utilises full bandwidth available in your Broadband Plan).

28. Prefer Windows XP or Windows 7 than Windows Vista for using Internet as the latter is slower in response to others OS while using Internet.

29. Never use Two ADSL Splitters on same line for any parallel phone connections, Instead use phone extension for using multiple connections.

30. Never let your Wireless Modem/Router Unsecured. Use WEP-128 bits or WPA security settings.

31. At
MDF Side (in telephone Exchange) all connections, jumpers and fuses should be neatly connected.

32. In E10B exchanges we can avoid using GD Tubes in Fuses. It can increases Line Quality (SNR value).

33. Last But not the Least, Pillars and DP should be free from Dust and Rust.

There are several other factors at various levels which affects Internet speed but most of the above points are enough to be checked at subscriber's premises.

The above Article is Exclusively Compiled and written for Broadband Engineers (TTA Broadband) working in BSNL by ME.
While forwarding this article pls give due credit to the writer of this article.

thanks & regards,

dear Inder,

i opened the site trako.com and it opens well here in chandigarh.
as the DNS are changind rrgularly so we need FIX, Stable, Reliable and Fast
DNS... and open DNS are the most popular along with google DNS. they also
dont load sites with malware, viruses generally in comparison to BSNL DNS
that can open any site. as no security is defined.
now and then our BSNL DNS servers get down every month due to load or poor
maintenance. so using Third party DNS is most feasible option.

using 192.168.1.1 as Primary DNS server is equally good as Modem takes up
DNS from BSNL automatically in case of undefined DNS. you can use one BSNL
DNS along with one third party DNS for Balanced Response and non-failure of
BSNL DNS query.

5. Twitter poses security threat to Tendulkar.
Posted by: "BP Singh" email13@gmail.com bsnl_chd
Date: Sat May 8, 2010 11:08 pm ((PDT))

*Twitter poses security threat to Tendulkar*

Sachin Tendulkar may have endeared himself to his countless fans by joining
the social networking site Twitter. But in doing so, the cricketer may have
exposed himself to a security risk.

*Tendulkar has been using the Uber Twitter application to post his tweets
via his Blackberry phone. It may not be known to the cricketer yet, but Uber
Twitter has started displaying his exact coordinates --- down to the sixth
decimal --- on his Twitter profile.
*
At 11.30 pm on Thursday, Tendulkar's location was being broadcast to his
169,000 followers as "19.048336, 72.827674" on his Twitter page,
twitter.com/sachin_rt.

This is to be read as latitude 19.048336 and longitude 72.827674. With a GPS
device or even a web-based tool like Google Maps, these coordinates can
reveal that Tendulkar, or at least his Blackberry, was at a location near KC
Road in Bandra, Mumbai.* *

Around 2.30 am on Friday, his Twitter location changed, indicating he was
heading towards the Bandra-Worli sea link.

In August, Tendulkar along with other Indian cricketers had junked a
controversial anti-doping rule from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA),
which required them to disclose their whereabouts for out-of-competition
testing.

They said the code was a breach of their *privacy and also posed a security
threat*.

BCCI's Ratnakar Shetty had said last year: "(India's cricketers) are under
security cover so I don't think they can disclose their whereabouts on a
daily basis."

Leading sports-persons in the world like Usain Bolt and Rafael Nadal had
grudgingly accepted the WADA code, as did the other cricketing nations. But
India's cricketers remained the only ones opposed to it.

In the past, there have been threats to the lives of leading Indian
cricketers, Tendulkar being the most prominent of them.

India captain MS Dhoni, too, had faced security troubles last year when he
received an extortion call in December.

Two years back, Sourav Ganguly said he'd received threat mails saying his
daughter would be kidnapped.
*
Tendulkar can fix this predicament by simply using a Twitter application
which doesn't disclose his location. *

But should he choose to go off Twitter, it would truly sadden his fans.
*Tendulkar joined Twitter on May 4 and within just three days has 184,656
followers and increasing.*

*
regards,

Bandhan Preet Singh*

6. Huawei part of Chinese spy network, says RAW.

Huawei part of Chinese spy network, says RAW.
NEW DELHI: Chinese telecom major Huawei may aggressively deny any link to
the China's People's Liberation Army, but independent assessments of Indian
intelligence agencies so far clearly point out that PLA remains a customer
of the company and has become more involved with it.

The security concerns of Indian intelligence agencies about Huawei's close
connection with the Chinese security establishment are shared by the US
administration and had led the latter to cancel Huawei's 2008 bid to pick up
stake in 3Com.

Even British intelligence agencies have warned that the Chinese could
cripple IT-dependent telecom infrastructure and critical services like
water, power and food supplies by embedding malware in equipment installed
by firms such as Huawei and ZTE.

According to security assessments of Huawei Technologies put together by
R&AW, the Chinese firm not only shares ties with the Chinese security
establishment but is also suspected to be a part of its intelligence set-up.
Not only was it founded by retired PLA officer Ren Zhengfei, a former
director of the Information Engineering Academy of the PLA's general staff
department, in 1988, but one of the members on the company's board was an
officer of the PRC ministry of state security.

Huawei, intelligence inputs collected over a period of time point out, is
responsible for sweeping and debugging all Chinese embassies and their
expertise extends to bugging of the target telecommunication and computer
systems. This explains Huawei's involvement in projects for military
purposes in Iraq during the Saddam Hussein regime and also in telecom
projects in Afghanistan during the Taliban rule.

Given the adverse reports of Huawei's alleged role in bugging systems for
the benefit of the Chinese security establishment, the communication
ministry has warned BSNL to test all equipment supplied by the Chinese firm
for "trapdoors, black box, malwares" and check if it is susceptible to
remote hacking before it can be allow to be operational.

7. Must Read>>> BURNT BISCUITS.

*BURNT BISCUITS*

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every
now and then.

And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast
after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage
and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad.

I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was
reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at
school.

I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember
watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every
bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom
apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits.

And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if
he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and
said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real
tired... And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

*You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people.
I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and
anniversaries just like everyone els*e.

*What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each
others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is
one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and
lasting relationship.*

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the
good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the
feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to
give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. *In fact, understanding is
the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or
friendship..!*
