[TTABSNL] Refreshing Memories (Good to Read it Again)

 

The below script is Some months Old but its good to read it again to refresh our memories regarding what management think about US (TTAs). Read it and Become more Strong and United against all odds.


MEETING OF JHARKHAND TTAs WITH  SR. D.D.G.(ESTT.)

Recently Sr.DDG (HRD) was here at Ranchi to address a seminar of CGMs and executives from all circles , main focus was to consolidate the position of  BSNL in the ever-growing and competitive telecom market. Main focus was to improve the work culture and emphasis on providing quality service to the esteemed subscribers. 

However we were given an appointment with Sr.DDG (HRD) along with the majority union BSNLEU. They talked about patty matters as usual. They looked more concerned about matters affecting BSNL.

The summary of the conversation is given in question-answer format. SNATTA was represented  by  VIKAS  KUMAR GUPTA.

VKG : I would like to have some of your time to talk and discuss matters relating to DRTTAs.

DDG : Who are you ? There is nothing to talk about TTAs, we have already discussed all the things in detail with the local union including your promotion etc etc.

VKG : I  am a direct recruited TTA and have served the department for good 4 and half years and I am representing all the TTAs on behalf of  our association, regarding your discussion over the matters relating to TTAs it was already done in the past with union representatives not related to our cadre. I would like to know sir what is the path of carrier progression for a DRTTAs in the company.

DDG : You must be well aware of the service conditions when you had joined the department. It was very clear from the beginning itself and the management firmly believes that the TTA should spend a certain length of time before being promoted to the next higher cadre i.e. JTO. This is at present 10 years of regular service in Group C and this was agreed upon by the previous unions also TTA is not a training ground. We have recruited TTAs because we need qualified manpower. When we need JTOs we can always take fresh graduates from the open market. There are plenty of them. We can not keep on recruiting and training TTAs and then promote to JTO and then again recruit fresh TTAs.

VKG: There is need of JTO as yourself admit so why don't you promote TTAs who have already served the department for say 4 or 5 years and have worked in all fields they are also highly qualified and many of them are handling group exchanges individually. Many of them are posted in the cutting edge technology and doing quite well Promoting them would be a better option.

DDG :  Look we are already paying TTAs good salary, more than any other department in this time when there is so much scarcity of jobs Getting a job in BSNL itself is big thing. You should concentrate more on serving the department rather than discussing all these issues. We are already suffering due to incumbent and surplus staffs.

VKG : DRTTAs are not surplus staffs they are young energetic, motivated and well qualified and I must say one thing almost ninety percent of the TTAs were in very well paid job in PSUs government and private sectors prior to joining BSNL. And I can cite examples of many government companies paying more than BSNL to a diploma engineer. They have definite time frame for career growth so high salary should not be an excuse. Here we are not even junior engineer and we are treated as technicians. An employee should at least know his future as where he stands in the hierarchy ladder ten years from now. There should be at least clear-cut policy over the issue of promotion. Our demand cannot be looked in the perspective as promotee TTA who are not qualified and have 5-10 years of service left. We are in the start of our career.

DDG: We in the management still think that 5 years is very short span of time to promote a Group C to  Group B. This has been discussed time and again with the union.

  And then the meeting ended abruptly because I could see the uneasiness written large on his face. We handed him the memorandum on behalf of SNATTA stating our demand and motives and then thanked him giving us time.

 

So friends the fight is not very easy because the management is adamantly opposed to any thought of giving promotion to us. They give baseless arguments against this. But together we will stand and get our share of future.

To break the system u need to be part of the system. The day will come when BSNLEU will be completely taken over by SNATTAians. Your apprehensions are right upto the point that BSNLEU raised the cases of TMs/TOAs, but these points are raised by the GS, BSNLEU at national level on demand from the ground leaders who are basically TOAs/TMs. when the ground leaders will be TTAs, our demands will also be given priority because the GS has no power without the support and votebank from ground leaders.

under these hostile conditions Pritpal's achievements are really appriciable. KEEP IT UP.

Friends...

I think it is not a good step... but being a SNATTA member, how can u be as dist. president of BSNLEU. BSNLEU is meant for all the non-executive cadres. You should satisfy so many other people of other cadres. You should work for them. You should follow the BSNLEU policies. They have some policies, which may not be good for DRTTAs (like time bound pay up gradation). Main issues of BSNLEU deal with welfare of TMs /TOAs /retirees /even casual mazdoors etc. you cannot concentrate on problems of TTAs fulltime.

I think it is better if we keep away from BSNLEU. Not only BSNLEU,NFTE, FNTO and any other unions. Just we should give external support to them.

YOUR  OLD   AS   WELL  NEW   CIRCLE/SSA SERVICE   WILL  BE  COUNTED  FOR  DEPARTMENTAL  EXAM  AS  WELL  AS  FOR   TIME  BOUND   PAY  SCALE   UPGRADATION  ,  HOWEVER  FOR   PROMOTION  THROUGH   SENIORITY  YOUR   SERVICE   RENDERED  IN  OLD  SSA/CIRCLE  WILL   BE  LOST. 
BEFORE   STRUCK  FROM  YOUR   SSA  FILL   DECLARATION   FORM  OF   RULE 8  INSTEAD   OF   RULE   38  ,   FOR  YOUR   SAFETY  IN   FUTURE

dear sunil,
i think it is not correct. it may b the old condition,
but in Rule-8 transfer under bsnl transfer policy dated 7-5-2008, it is not mentioned anything about loss of service.
better to ask mr.chandan president SNATTA
he may help.

our IDA scale can be changed from 7100 to 7800....
as 6550 was changed to 9850 E1 JTO IDA scale which is now going to be 10750 E2.
 
 
TTAs WITH IN SERVICE AMIE NOT BEING GIVEN ANY BENEFIT LIKE FIVE TO TEN THOUSAND AFTER UPGRADATION OF TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION EVEN ISSUE NOT RAISED. IF FOR MBA EXECUTIVE CAN GET FEE REUMBURSMENT WE ARE JUST ASKING A SIMPLE ENCOURGEMENT TTA FEEL FOOL THEMSELVES ON COMPLETION OF SUCH A HARD PAINSTAKING COURSE.........
 
 
we are not having any ruling standards in BSNL as service condition was changed from 10 to 7 or 5 years on the basis of some letter which already existed. CMD only demanded that copy waht kin d of PSU we are working in where such things happen.
If letter was already there then what made Mr CMD to change service condition from 5 to 10 years after  formation of BSNL. What standards are being followed......
 
 
JE ELECTRICALS MADE JTO AFTER BSNL FORMATION HAVING DIPLOMA ..AFTER OR AROUND 2002.......
 
 
WE DONT SEE WAGE NEGOTIATION IN NEAR TIME WE MUST EXCEPT IT WITH 30% WITH NO CONDITION OF TIME OR 5 YEARS ONLY........
 
Why we are being given so called first promotion as called after 8 years whereas for other group C and D it after 4 years we are with a union which is discriminating as DOT AND BSNL recruited. we are suppose to put pressure atleast this must not have been done .................how how and how this can be done to us we are supporting them.....
waht kind of way we foolowing and where will it take us ....to.....
 
 
 
we are with a UNION like this and putting issues to management like this .
In between this what will happen .............
 
 
we must must must reconsider how we are suppose to move forward we can not depend only on a UNION like this. I AM NOT SAYING THAT SO FAR IS BAD IT IS BEEN GOOD BUT NOT TAKING US TO WHERE WE WWANTED. AS OUR DEMANDS WERE NOT INCLUDED IN ANYWHERE BUT DO FIND THEIR AND RETIRED..ONES....
 
 
 
7 MONTES HAVE PASSED FRIENDSSSS WE WILL HAVE TO TAKE OUR OWN STEPS WE CANNOT RELY ONLY ON A UNION WE MUST START TAKING CERTAIN CONFERENCE WITH MOC LEADERS LIKE A RAJAJI AND RAJ MINISTER AND MR CMD AND PURSUE THEM TO CONSIDER OUR DEMANDS OUR ISSUES WHINCH ARE MORE LOGICAL AND DESERVABLE TO SOLVED ALL TO SERVER BSNL BETTER
