Dear Lalit, What you said is correct. But we have to consider some other facts also. This subject was discussed many times earlier and our respectable President Chandan had given a suitable reply. SNATTA is a channel for the DRTTAs to approach the management through the majority union(now it is BSNLEU. It may be changed in the future). We don't have enough strength to stand alone. SNATTA concentrates on common cadre issues like promotion,wage revision,designation change etc.. For local issues like transfer, problems with officers/TMs, working conditions,HR/administration problems etc.many TTAs seek the help of BSNLEU. If they cut subscription then we may not be able to solve such problems. We don't have much hold in the management. More over if we decide to resign from the unions then all DRTTAs should do it. I think that most of the inactive TTAs will not do it. They are afraid of local harassment from BSNLEU. New TTAs directly joined BSNLEU and in many SSAs there are many TTAs who are not aware of SNATTA. So if majority of the TTAs not resigned then our so called unity will be unmasked in front of others. Still the strength of our discussion forum is less than 2000 only. We should be converted into a union in future. But for that we have to do a lot of hard work. We have to make every DRTTA a SNATTIAN and should form district bodies in every SSAs. With out proper system of fund collection every time we have to face the same problem. Whenever the option of deduction of the subscription from the salary is provided by the management to all the unions then why still we are not opting for the same. I know that for that way our association must be registered as union. But what's the problem to register as union as the need and survival of snatta is very indispensable for the tta cadre.
Though the aim of the snatta is to make the way for the ttas to become jto but it is also very truth that all the tta will not be the jto in a single stroke or the tta cadre will be abolished from the bsnl. This cadre will always exist in bsnl may be with other name. So I think that the objectives of this union must be the welfare of this cadre. And if you analysis u will find that our tta friends are contributing more to other union than the snatta because of the system of collection. U know better that Rs. 15 or Rs. 20 per month contribution is always deducted from the salary of our friends and almost 60 to 70% ttas are contributing. If the total strength of ttas in all over India is approx. 8000. then total contribution by ttas is
= 8000*70*15/100
= 84000/ month
and for one year it will be = Rs.1008000/-
and for two year i.e. one verification tenure = Rs. 2016000/-
Then friends pl. think again why we are providing an opportunity to others unions to celebrate butter and bear on the hard earned money of TTAS and we are blaming our tta friend for contribution though ttas are contributing more amount per year than the snatta collected from the existence to till date because of the wrong selection of system.
So kindly take a rethink and decide.
