The growth of our wireless services during the month of May,09 has incredibly and shockingly dipped to about 4 lakhs, despite availability of equipment in almost all the potential circles in great abundance, except, of course, those where our vendor is ITI. When we compare this disgusting growth of May,09 to that of March,09, one is inclined to think and believe whether the figures of growth of March,09 are real or grossly exaggerated. It is virtually impossible to advance and accept any rational and plausible argument to explain the sudden fall in growth of about 80% in just about two months.
With just seven Circles, Kerala ( profit having gone down from about 800 crores in 2007-08 to 562 crores in 2008-09), Karnataka (having done remarkably well with profits surging from negative in 2007-08 to remarkably high of about 324 crores in 2008-09), Chennai( profits having registered a downward trend from about 90 crores in 2007-08 to about 56 crores in 2008-09), J&K( having done exceedingly well by registering a net profit of 34 crores for 2008-09 despite being a tiny Circle with all other complex problems), Orissa ( profit of 23 crores for 2008-09), Rajasthan( profits having significantly declined from about 50 crores in 2007-08 to 8.5 crores in 2008-09), Haryana ( registered a meager profit of 29 lakhs for 2008-09). All other major and potential Circles like AP, TN, MH, GU, MP, UP(E), UP(W), Bihar, Punjab, WB, Kolkatta/TD, Assam etc. have registered an abysmally and dreadful negative growth for the year 2008-09. Are our activists in these circles not alive to such deadly developments, and if they are why an organized and sustained struggle to get things on rails in these Circles by SNEA(I) is nowhere in sight? After all, towards achieving this crucial and lifeline objective, we have resolved time and again. What a painful story, our resolutions have been reduced to scraps of paper, while we are very fast losing ground from under our feet.
Future career growth, financial benefits, promotions etc will become simply nightmares once we start entering that horrifying Red zone. Holding of DPCs, pay fixations, DA etc will become a thing of the past. It is unbearably painful even to visualize the acute pangs of agony while we approach that life taking Red zone, let alone actually experience it. Actually experiencing it means packing our baggage for good. The moot question that looms large is that have we embraced death or we have some determination still left to launch that crucial and final assault for survival. It is only a decisive and prolonged struggle from our platform that can stave off the threatening situation that we are approaching towards very fast. Our resolution, commitment, toughness to face life and death challenge, conviction, indomitable and unrelenting courage to pass the litmus test is all that is going to matter.
