JTO-LICE-Case needed to take up for discussion in NCM(National Council Meeting). It would have been better if we pressurised BSNLEU for adding as SUPPLEMENTARY ITEM in the previous meeting.

*BSNL's Rs. 625 Broadband Plan is now available for all Telecom circles*Bharat
Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced that its Broadband Plan BB Home
Combo UL 625 CS1 will now be available in all the telecom circles. Earlier
BB Home Combo UL 625 CS1 was available in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana,
Kolkatta & Punjab Circles only. This plan provides unlimited download/upload
at a bandwidth of 256 Kbps. Along with this plan, BSNL subscribers will get
Free National and local calls worth Rs. 100 and there will be no Fixed
monthly rent for the LandLine.
Earlier BSNL announced BB Home UL 499, which offers unlimited
download/upload at 256 Kbps. The difference between these two plans is that
- while BB Home Combo UL 625 CS1 is a combo plan and its users do not have
to incur any additional charges for landline, but in case of BB Home UL 499,
users need to choose between various landline plans available for BSNL
customers and charges of these landline plans will be in addition to the
Fixed Charges of Rs. 499 Plan.

LIC earns premium of Rs 4,853 cr from BSNL10 Sep, 2010, 08.24PM IST, PTINEW
DELHI: Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) on Friday said it has earned premium of
Rs 4,853 crore from BSNL under a group scheme, which is the largest sum got by a
life
insurer from a single company.
This single large deal would further improve LIC's market share, which currently
is
around 71 per cent. The policy bond of BSNL Employees Leave Encashment Scheme
which is the corpus towards earned leave encashment to be paid to employees of
BSNL
at the time of retirement.
This is the single largest leave encashment scheme of LIC in which 2,81,000 BSNL
employees are covered, the country's largest life insurer said in a statement.
The business
was bagged by Divisional Office one of Delhi zone of LIC.
BSNL board has decided to transfer the Liability of Leave encashment of Rs
4,852.91
crore to LIC under LIC's Group Leave Encashment Cash Accumulation Scheme (GLES),
it said.
LIC Managing Director Thomas Mathew handed over the policy bond to BSNL
Management yesterday.
LIC till July this fiscal, earned first premium of Rs 7,445 crore from group
business. In
July, it earned Rs 1,686 crore premium under this head. During April-July
period, LIC
registered an over 70 per cent growth in new premium (from both group and
individual)
collections to Rs 24,430 crore.

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has stated that they are ready with all
set to launch the Number Portability system. *Mobile number portability
(MNP) in India is the process of transferring (porting) your mobile phone
number from one Indian mobile phone network provider to another.* You may
want to do this if you wish to sign up to a new mobile phone provider and
keep your original mobile phone number, thus saving you the inconvenience of
updating your contacts with your new telephone number.
The latest news on mobile number portability in India is that,* the
government has now fixed 31 October as the new date for implementing MNP
services across the nation.*
Some new Telecom operators are still far away from putting in place the
required infrastructure, sources said, adding that with BSNL announcing its
readiness, the government might not extend the deadline any further.
It is not possible to set up MNP (mobile number portability) in India until
all mobile phone operators have implemented and tested the MNP technology�
The Department of Telecom in India have issued warnings to all mobile phone
operators instructing them to speed up the implementation of MNP otherwise
they will be forced to take action against them.
Sources said some of the operators are waiting for delivery of equipment
after placing purchase orders, while others are waiting for security
clearance to place their purchase orders.
Under guidelines proposed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India
(TRAI), *mobile users will be allowed to use the same mobile number even if
providers use different mobile technologies like CDMA (code division
multiple access) or GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications). GSM is
currently the dominant technology used by providers in India.*

Hi Friends,
Nice tech debate going on . I am a bit outdated in this area as I did my CCNA
and MCSE in 1998 only. But it is nice to see few TTAs are so hugely talented .
I Still firmly believe that Kaspersky is a bull shit and it is better to flush
your money in shit pan then spending it on buying such a product. In my openion
Even a free Antivirous like quick heal and AVG performes better then Kaspersky.
Any way you are never safe unless you are using a FIREwall. I agree with Saha
that Zone Alarm is good . Rest is on luck. I am working since 1997 and started
my Carrer with win 95 and server Novell Netware .... Things have changed a lot
... I have been in so many countries out side India .. but hopelessly I have not
met an Engg/ User/Operater or seen any server/pc which never got infected with
virus. In this situation Bandhan has done a brillient job.
Tech. is changing fast ,thanks you people ,to keep us updated.

now i am agree with ur comments but one thing i want to clear here that
mentality of everyone using Broabdand is same in India.
even some people still lodging complaints with us or to the higher BSNL officers
that after installing BSNL broadband their pc gets infected. and the worst part
is that they blame the TTA of this mess ;-)) lol...!!!
these ignorant users even accuse us of inserting viruses in their PC and said
after u installed net our pc starts giving trouble. (as u know virus gets more
strong in the presence of net and even multiplies it in the system rapidly. also
more new viruses gets in due to existing vulnerabilities)
there are so many problems for a Broadband TTAs, i cant even explain here. those
sitting inside switch room or offices are really blessed.
just 3 days ago i went to attend some bb fault in mohali, i opened the main gate
and rang the bell located inside of the house and suddenly one huge German
Shepard Dog come running.......
rest is History...!!! hahahha ;-))

just to share i did my MCSE in 2002.
there is a much difference between believe and actual fact. there should be
some supporting documents to corroborate ur statements.
*for me kaspersky and ESET is highly rated products* who have a niche in
market. i already submitted some reports earlier.
anyway.. one can believe anything in India and people abroad have a reason
for it. (dont get offended im just writing in a flow)
and yes i declared that i once or may be twice got virus in my system in
last 10 yrs because since my computing days i used more of my common sense
rather than jumping on any conclusion. yes i do agree that i made a lot of
mistakes and thats the reason for my experience so far.

Yes, this is really nice to have such a tech debate going on. But,
I am also a bit amused. There are so many TTAs are using this site,, why don't
they just share their experiences. I expect more and more people should join
this type of discussions, because nobody is perfect and anybody can share a new
line of thought or knowledge.
This debate is not just about virus, the trend of crackers (hackers with
malicious intention) and virus makers
normally make your computer useless once infected, but nowadyas, the trend have
changed. The latest crackers enter your computer, steal all the informations and
leave without harming your computer. So, most of the cases, if you do not have a
firewall, but only antivirus, then you will never know, because, most of the
antivirus is not able to catch them, let it be, AVIRA, AVG, QUICKHEAL, KASPERSKY
etc. Crackers and virusmakers, as I said, will be always one step ahead of us.

just to share i did my MCSE in 2002.
there is a much difference between believe and actual fact. there should be some
supporting documents to corroborate ur statements.
for me kaspersky and ESET is highly rated products who have a niche in market. i
already submitted some reports earlier.
anyway.. one can believe anything in India and people abroad have a reason for
it. (dont get offended im just writing in a flow)
and yes i declared that i once or may be twice got virus in my system in last 10
yrs because since my computing days i used more of my common sense rather than
jumping on any conclusion. yes i do agree that i made a lot of mistakes and
thats the reason for my experience so far.

Any way you are never safe unless you are using a FIREwall. I agree with Saha that Zone Alarm is good . Rest is on luck. I am working since 1997 and started my Carrer with win 95 and server Novell Netware .... Things have changed a lot ... I have been in so many countries out side India .. but hopelessly I have not met an Engg/ User/Operater or seen any server/pc which never got infected with virus. In this situation Bandhan has done a brillient job.

now i am agree with ur comments but one thing i want to clear here that mentality of everyone using Broabdand is same in India.
even some people still lodging complaints with us or to the higher BSNL officers that after installing BSNL broadband their pc gets infected. and the worst part is that they blame the TTA of this mess ;-)) lol...!!!
these ignorant users even accuse us of inserting viruses in their PC and said after u installed net our pc starts giving trouble. (as u know virus gets more strong in the presence of net and even multiplies it in the system rapidly. also more new viruses gets in due to existing vulnerabilities)
there are so many problems for a Broadband TTAs, i cant even explain here. those sitting inside switch room or offices are really blessed.
just 3 days ago i went to attend some bb fault in mohali, i opened the main gate and rang the bell located inside of the house and suddenly one huge German Shepard Dog come running.......
rest is History...!!! hahahha ;-))

NO Anti-Virus can work better than urself. if we cant rely on ourselves then we need help of some software which protects us. There is no guarantee from any anti-virus product of the world that it can protects u 100%.
i feel surprised that people like u gets infected.. i am using computers since ages and my System Never (once in ten years) gets infected or hijacked by a virus/trojan/worm/malware etc... i just follow safe practices as i told in an earlier mail.
One should Always have Licensed Anti-Virus as so called free/Cracked available softwares on the internet some times are already infected. Malware is embedded in the application itself. Of-course you can get Free VERSION Anti-Virus from the Vendor's website.
i am not an agent to promote a Product here but you can rely on Kaspersky and ESET Nod32 happily and without loosing substantial system performance. Hope now onwards u will research more on the subject before Dis-Agreeing with Me.
i advise kaspersky, eset, bit defender, mcafee even norton etc to my customers and those having these products seldom ring me about
sluggish system or Internet performance as u know Malware in any form can get u down.

So, even after doing all these steps, and see that there is no virus in your computer, the TROJAN or WORM from infected system file will again come up, when you try to execute some paricular windows program for which that system file is requred. And suddenly you see that your computer has become slow etc.
I don't use Quick Heal, But I have heard that it is good. You cannot rely on Kaspersky. But, for single home users, I will definitely recommend AVIRA antivirus (Dont download from www.brothersoft.com as the antivirus itself is infected), try download from www.cnet.com and Zone Alarm firewall which is also free for Home single users. just install anfd don't tweak it except if you have LAN, then you will have to add the LAN IPs in trusted range etc. Try them.
To speed up your win XP, go to My Computer -> properties -> system properties -> advanced ->settings -> visual effects ->click adjust for best performance, click ok,ok. Restart your computer. Your computer will be faster by at least 10%.

Kaspersky in my opinion is one of the best in terms of all parameters. Norton is also good but i prefer kaspersky, ESET, mcafee instead.
by the way... no anti virus can fully protect ur system than Yourself only.
always follow safe practices while u online, running applications, opening pen drives or watching websites.

Tatas was the first company of introducing the concept of per second tariffs
in mobile telephony that had forced all others to follow.
Both TTSL and TTSL (Maharashtra) offer dual technology (GSM and CDMA) mobile
services across the nation.
After its collaboration with Japan's NTT DOCOMO in November 2008, TTSL has
so far launched GSM services under the "TATA DOCOMO" brand in all the 18
telecom Circles where it received spectrum from the Government.
"We thank and appreciate every subscriber�s ceaseless faith in us as a
transparent, caring and competent telecom services company. Everyone in TTSL
has complete satisfaction as we look back on the year gone by," Anil
Sardana, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said.
The introduction of many path-breaking, innovative and pioneering
initiatives has been the reason behind this success, he added.
According to the latest figures released by telecom regulator TRAI, Bharti
is the number one operator with over 139 million subscribers at the end of
July this year, followed by RCom with over 113 million and Vodafone with
over 111 million users.
BSNL has become fifth largest operator with 73.7 million wireless
subscribers at the end of July this year.
TTSL had started offering CDMA mobile services in 2005 and got permission
for dual technology (GSM also) only in late 2007 and got started getting GSM
spectrum in January 2008.
The company has started GSM services in most of the circles it got spectrum
but has failed to get GSM frequency in the most lucrative circle of Delhi
despite several attempts.
TTSL claimed to have clocked a growth of 100 per cent in the year gone by as
it had wireless subscriber base of 38 million in July 2009, the statement
said.

Be willing to learn
Many of us are reluctant to learn from the people closest to us—our authorities,
colleagues, staff and friends. Rather than being open to learning, we close
ourselves off out of embarrassment, fear, stubbornness, or pride. It's almost as
if we say to ourselves, "I have already learned all that I can [or want to
learn] from this person; there is nothing else I can [or need to] learn."
It's sad, because often the people closest to us know us the best. They are
sometimes able to see ways in which we are acting in a self-defeating manner and
can offer very simple solutions. If we are too proud or stubborn to learn, we
lose out on some wonderful, simple ways to improve our lives.
Remain open to the suggestions of your authorities and other devotees. Ask
senior devotees and authorities, "What are some of my blind spots?" By this
simple process you end up getting some good advice. It's such a simple shortcut
for growth, yet almost no one uses it. All it takes is a little courage and
humility, and the ability to let go of your ego. This is especially true if you
are in the habit of ignoring suggestions, taking them as criticism.
Pick something that you feel the person whom you are asking is qualified to
answer. Sometimes the advice we get usually prevents us from having to learn
something the hard way.
