There is another bolt from blue for 2.4 lacs BSNL Workers.
It is learnt that the promotion policy agreement signed by BSNLEU and sent to DOT nine months bch has since been returned back without any approval.
DOT has remarked that the BSNL Board can take its own decision. BSNLEU, the Representative Union which has the formal meeting with DOT also has done nothing to get it approved or at least get it return within a month or two for BSNL to decide.
The following questions are looming large:
- Whether the BSNL Board can approve the new scale of rs.9200.00 with retrospective effect
- Whether the BOARD can take a decision with regard to the payment of pension in case of 2.4 lac BSNL Workers?
It is established beyond doubt that BSNLEU, the recognized union, has totally failed to clinch wage revision and promotion policy Forum lead by BSNLEU has given the strike call which will further scuttle the settlement of the key issues.
The viewers may recall that when BSNL Workers Alliance leaders were on hunger strike, the BSNLEU was propagating that the file on promotion has been returned from DoT duly approved!!!
Things are back to square one.
