It is reported that BSNL profit has dropped significantly since 2005. It is not only because of reducing connections, but also due to the fact being a monopoly those days BSNL charged huge rental charges for Landline which has reduced considerably now. Last year we were asked not to sale prepaid cards even when customer approaching us, for three months due to incomplete expansion works. After expansion works were complete, the plans introduced were having low starter pack values like 25 rs, 40 rs and even free during melas. Call charges also has reduced drastically due to competition, so its natural that the profit range will come down. It is also reported that Airtel spends only 4.5 % towards salaries. SO the need of the hour is to increase the sales volume so as to increase per employee production rate. Say in a CSR we must try to improve our sales rate atleast by 200 % to match the % rate projected by AIrtel. Are we ready ?
