SUB: Need of the hour for financial viability of BSNL and role of DR.JTO/JAO/TTA.
Sir,
With due respect I would like to draw your kind attention about the present scenario of BSNL and the negative attitude of BSNL management towards the qualified employees. As we all know about the intention of the management i.e. the outsiders who in a position to rule the real employees of BSNL. As a results they are not ready to realize the role of the direct recruited staffs as well as some of the like minded absorbed employees of DOT. The market share of BSNL is going down rapidly due to which BSNL has come to fourth position and very soon it is also going to lose it's present position as IDEA has launched it's service in many C category circles as it was very close to BSNL's position. Revenue and profit of BSNL has come down drastically in spite of such a huge infrastructure and highly qualified employees which is very unfortunate. I don't think it is because the employees but I can say it is only because of the wrong policies of BSNL. The ITS are yet to be absorbed in BSNL but they want to implement all the Government decisions like IPO. It may be done only after the absorption of ITS in BSNL.I don't know how these ITS officers dare to follow the decision of the Government ignoring the sentiments of all other absorbed employees .This time I appreciate the steps taken by the AIGETOA for ITS absorption along with their other related demands for a healthy work culture in BSNL and also the survival of BSNL.I never have seen any strong decision taken by any other union(Executive/Non executive) over this vital issue. I have asked a question many time to myself who are going to save BSNL from such a critical situation and finally I got the answer it is only the direct recruited JTO/JAO/TTA and most of the absorbed DOT employees who also have mind set like us. Now time has come we all like minded employees of BSNL those have a long time to go with BSNL should come forward under a common platform to save our mother i.e. BSNL. From these stepped son i.e. the ITS. We should think if things go on like the day is not far away when we will see the downfall of BSNL which we can't tolerate. Now BSNL is facing a very tough competition in the market from all the private operators as they all want BSNL not to survive in the market and the Government will be forced to disinvest by launching very attractive schemes to divert the BSNL customers. We have to make awareness among the public not to forget it is only after the launch of BSNL mobile people got the incoming free and also make them understand when BSNL will not be able sustain in the market due to wrong policies of the Government all the private operators will start looting the customers again with mutual understanding among them. So it is our duty to explain this things to the public as a part of marketing as well as service to the Indian public. Now survival BSNL is totally depends on it's performance and profitability. So irrespective of cadre we should joins hands to make BSNL the number one telecom company not only in India but also in Asia. One more reason that is going to harm BSNL is the pension of DOT employees who are getting pension in IDA scale when the BSNL recruited employees are not eligible for pension. If they will be given pension in IDA scale it is going from our share in BSNL even if we are not eligible to get any pension. It is my request to think over this issue how far is it justified. They should get till they were in DOT after that they may be treated like us. If we join together we can not allow the management to follow divide and rule policies. As you already know BSNL is going to hold election among the executives from this year as part of it's divide and rule policy. We should fight for survival of BSNL as well as fight for our dignity and status in BSNL as we are giving maximum effort to change the work culture and generate revenue for BSNL. It is the AIGETOA who understands the problems created by the management for SNATTA and raised it's voice before the management and also SNATTA realize the problems of AIGETOA. I think the problem of AIGETOA in executives is almost same as SNATTA in Non-executives in BSNL. So we should fight for each other as result BSNL will get quality man power in such tough time and can get out of this critical situation and can once again prove itself as the No.1 telecom giant in India. We the direct recruited BSNL employees are self sufficient to force the management to take decision in favour of us and our demand is always for the betterment of BSNL. After 2012 the role of AIGETOA AND SNATTA can not be neglected by BSNL but we have to make it survival till 2012 when a lot employees are going to retire. I don't know whether the members of AIGETOA will appreciate this opinion but I hope all SNATTA members will realize this thing. It is the right time for us to fight together for our rights in BSNL. At same time I want to know to which union all the direct recruited JAOs belong to ? I have talked many SNEA JTOs and SDEs they told that if AIGETOA form a uniform platform for all irrespective of cadre they will join for the betterment of BSNL in the present scenario which can give a new dimension to a dipping boat like BSNL and can make a mystery in the history of BSNL.I hope SNATTA central executive body should support AIGETOA in their forth coming strike on 18th of this month onwands.
