Dear friends,
In a very expected move CHQ SNATTA has decided to support NFTE for the forthcoming verification process.Due to the on going circumstances for the last few months, it was foreseen that we will have to leave BSNLEU. The only question was when to announce this decision.Now after all the strikes & dharna are over as of now , Central Executive Committee meeting of SNATTA was held and the decision was handed over to the members.This decision as per my opinion is Right also to a certain extent. We, SNATTA has signed an agreement with BSNLEU earlier, and they promised us to fight for & on behalf of SNATTA, but they failed to understand the problems of a cadre which is the backbone of BSNL.We as a family has all rights to protect the interests of all our members.BSNLEU just cried for casual labours , pensioners and TOA's.
I congratulate CHQ,all CS/CC , for the decision .
Now our foremost aim will be to ensure that NFTE wins this verification.If it does not then..........?????????.GOD knows.

A very big decision is taken in the CEC meeting and each and every member must
respect the decision and work hard in this regard to make things alive. All the
circles must starts the mass camping in the matter and motivate other people to
vote for NFTE.
and one things must remember that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

In lieu of the decision a clear instruction must be issued for:
1. All SNATTA'ians holding a post in district / circle council must be
instructed to resign from the post immediately.
2. A suitable instruction must be issued to how & when to stop union
subscription from BSNLEU.

This is a good decision by the CHQ for not suppoting the same union who has done nothing that much for us. Instead now we should wake up and stand united to fight for our right and to really show in the organisation that we are the real pillars of the organisation.

* Dt 18-12-2010**Central Executive Committee meeting of SNATTA regarding
the 5th membership verification was held on 17.12.2010 in CTO Sabhagar New
Delhi *in which most of the circles participated. *After discussing the post
performance evaluation of BSNLEU, it has been decided to * *vote and support
in favor of NFTE (BSNL) at Serial No:-13 in the forthcoming
verification.*The CEC discussed in length and evaluated the last 4
years performance of
BSNLEU.
The following issues were discussed in the meeting-
(1) *30% fitment to new DRTTAs:* On this heartburning issue, GS BSNLEU
remained non-committal till date and are only promising for the pay
protection to them which can not be accepted by us. We demanded 30% fitment
to New DRTTAs which has not been seriously taken by the BSNLEU.
(2) *Upgradation of TTA scale:* BSNLEU failed to even raise the demand of
pay scale upgradation of TTAs from NE-9 though the 6th CPC has recommended
to merge the 5000-5500-6500 scales.
(3)* Change of designation:* BSNLEU is not at all serious on the issue.
(4) *Non-Executive Promotion Policy (NEPP): *In this promotion policy our
direct recruitees are discriminated as 8 years service condition is required
for DRTTAs as only 4 years service condition is required for DOT absorbed
employee.
(5) *JTO Promotion: * The matter of JTO promotion is still unresolved due to
the malafide intentions of Circle Secretary BSNLEU Kerala.
(6) *Para-8 transfer issues: *No support was extended by most of the BSNLEU
Circle and District office bearers on the matter.
(7) *Lack of coordination of CS/DS BSNLEU:** * *Most of the Circle
Secretaries of SNATTA were dissatisfied with the working and high handedness
of BSNLEU office bearers.*
The promises made with the SNATTA has not been fulfilled, so it has been
decided to vote and support NFTE (BSNL). Agreement has been signed by GS
NFTE and GS SNATTA. *

Reacting to the proposed amendments in the RTI Act, the RTI activists in
Punjab have said the implementation of proposed amendments would defeat the
purpose of the Act. The amendments have been proposed by the department of
personnel (DoPT), the nodal body for implementing the Act in the country.
The NGOs and RTI activists have expressed resentment over the proposals made
by DoPT and have requested the Union Government not to go ahead with the
proposals.
*According to proposed amendments in the Act, the DoPT had said each
application should be limited to 250 words excluding the address of the
public authority and applicant. It should be limited to only one subject
matter. Besides, RTI applicants should pay the actual amount, spent by
public authority on hiring a machine or any other equipment, if any, to
supply information. **The DoPT have sought comments on the proposed changes
from public on their email address usrti-dovt@nic.in by December 27.*
Speaking to The Tribune, state president of the RTI Activist Federation
Punjab HC Arora said above mentioned proposals were an attempt to nullify
the RTI Act. "*We have informed the members of our federation across the
state to send their feedback against the proposals at the e-mail address
given by the DoPT*," he said.
President of NGO Sankalp and an RTI Activist, J*atinder Jain, said proposed
amendments would only give a tool to the Public Information Officer's to
reject most of the RTI Applications.* "Putting a word limit of 250 words
will obstruct the Right to Information. There is no need to limit word
usage," he said. He asked how the government can set a limit of words,
especially when same set of questions in different languages will require
different word usage.
Another RTI activist Kamal Anand said proposal to charge the actual amount
spent by public authority on hiring a machine or any other equipment, if
any, to supply information was not advisable. It would intend to scuttle the
Act itself, as the government was providing and should provide
infrastructure for this purpose.

NO DECISION BECOMES RIGHT BY ITS BIRTH. ONLY THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION MAKES IT RIGHT.
Our CEC has taken a decision. It is SNATTA's decision - means it is our decision. Considering all the aspects of the present scenario, it is the best available option for us. Now let us make this decision right by submitting our hearts to this decision.

Kudos. Good Decision. Those guys up in EU asked for it. They simply deserve our refusal to standby them. I wholeheartedly accept the decision by SNATTAs.
One more responsibility lies on our shoulders too. It does not mean anything if we alone refuse to vote them this time, but it is necessary to see that they are not voted back to power again atleast this time; else, the purpose of refusal will stand defeated. I take this medium to appeal to all the TTAs to work against them in their locale so that we are connected to the winner of the verification ahead and improve our chances to fight for ourselves.
