Dear President/GS/CCs SNATTA,
Greetings!
I am an Ex-Serviceman with 21 years of service in IAF. I joined BSNL as TTA through Competitive Exam in the batch of 2002. At present I am serving in KSA on Deputation through TCIL. My SSA is Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu.
At the onset, I extend my sincere gratitude for all of our union office bearers' struggle to get the LICE notification with the relaxation of 7 years of regular service. But recently, when I have gone through the eligibility conditions for JTO RR 2001, the maximum age limit permissible is given as below 50 years, whereas, my present age is above 50 years (DOB 20/05/1959).
Now, I would like to know whether I will be automatically eligible for age relaxation as an Ex.SM to write the JTO Promotional exam through LICE or not?
Moreover, in the Annexure to BSNL Corporate Office letter no. 404-37/2009-Pers.(Legal) dated 11.11.2009 (Attachment to mail sent by Mr. GS Rajawat on Latest Developments in MT Cases dated 11.11.2009 in SNATTA Yahoo group), an Ex-Serviceman Mr.Shankar Lal Kumhar AO has filed a petition in CAT Ahmedabad vide OA No. 367/09 requesting to allow age relaxation to internal candidates in the category of Ex.SM for MT (Accts) Examination.
So my doubt is whether I should also file a petition in CAT to get the age relaxation to sit in JTO LICE exam or can I give a representation to Corporate Office through proper channel for availing age relaxation. Some more Ex.SM.TTAs might be also affected, I suppose.
Your earliest and sincere advice will be solicited.

One Night 4 College Students Were Playing Till Late Night and Didn't Study For The Test Which Was Scheduled For The Next Day.
In the morning they thought of a plan. They made themselves look as dirty and weird with grease and dirt. They then went up to the Dean and said that they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their return the tyre of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way back and that they were in no condition to appear for the test.
So the Dean said they can have the re-test after 3 days. They thanked him and said they will be ready by that time.
On the third day they appeared before the Dean. The Dean said that as this was a Special Condition Test, All four were required to sit in separate classrooms for the test.
They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days.
The Test consisted of 2 questions with the total of 100 Marks.

The government´s plans to raise the public float of profit-making PSUs and use the proceeds to help bridge the yawning fiscal deficit took another step forward on Friday, with a senior official identifying some of the country´s largest PSUs-BSNL, SAIL and Coal India-among those to hit the market in coming months. NTPC, REC and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd will see public offerings this financial year itself. The government is also considering differential pricing to promote retail participation in the proposed stake sales. The idea is to incentivise retail investors with marginal discounts in follow-on public offers (FPOs). Up to 10% discount will be given to PSU employees.
Addressing mediapersons, disinvestment secretary Sunil Mitra said a 5% stake sale in NTPC would earn the exchequer Rs 8,100 crore. The government would also divest 10% stake in Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd through an IPO. "The department of disinvestment is in talks with the administrative ministries to line up IPOs by BSNL and Coal India, as well as FPOs by SAIL and NMDC," Mitra said. Under the new disinvestment policy cleared by the Cabinet recently, profitable unlisted PSUs will be listed on stock exchanges. The public float of listed PSUs will be raised to 10%.
"We are verifying the number of profit-making PSUs with the department of public enterprises. As per DPE´s 2007-08 report, ten listed PSUs have less than 10% public holding and there are another 50 unlisted PSUs that meet the criteria. We are waiting for the department´s 2008-09 report for a final estimate," Mitra said. He said the current policy would enhance corporate governance at PSUs, as well as the value of the government´s residual stake in the firms. Citing the case of NTPC, which raised Rs 2,700 crore via a 5.25% stake sale in 2004, Mitra pointed out that the 5% sale in NTPC proposed now would raise over three times that amount thanks to an increase in the post-listing value.
"Direct people ownership effectively enables the public to share the prosperity of PSUs. Indirect people ownership is achieved through mutual funds and insurance firms. There are about 1 crore demat accounts and 14 crore insurance and mutual fund unit holders. So, this strategy would benefit close to 40% of all households," said Mitra.
BSNL may submit financial bid for Zambia Telecom

NEW DELHI: State-run BSNL is likely to submit financial bid for a majority stake in Zambia's leading telecom company, Zambia Telecommunications Ltd
(Zamtel).
"We are doing due diligence at the moment after qualifying in the first round. I think there is great possibility that we will put up the financial bid for Zamtel based on our estimation emerging out of the current due diligence process," BSNL CMD Kuldeep Goyal told PTI.
Yesterday, Chairman and Managing Director of MTNL -- the other PSU which has also been shortlisted for the second-round of bidding process -- R S P Sinha said the company is interested in Zamtel.
The Zambian government is offering between 51 per cent and 75 per cent of its stake in Zamtel.
The process is likely to be completed in the first quarter of 2010.

Sorry for not posting comment on SSS issue ...
I feel every body .. no matter what he writes .. should be allowed to post and no such moderation should be done to ban anybody ... this is a democratic front and let it remain like this... even on BSNL intranet ... all sorts of messages are posted but management has never blocked anything ...
now , If matter is down market/cheap or absorbed it will fetch comments on its merit.... why to stop new ideas .... Somebody rightly said that.. this sss thing has only shown the unity and clarity in view of majority ...

I am Amit Kumar TTA , posted under SDO Phones , patnacity o/o PGMTD , Patna Bihar and a member of SNATTA.
With due respect I want to say that my SDO is not giving me 2nd saturday as holiday, even he is not availing 2nd saturday holiday.
sir , kindly guide me how could I force him to give me holiday.
