On the request of our GS SNATTA Mr. Dharmendra Verma, yesterday I met with management in BSNL corporate office to invite them in our forthcoming AIC at Goa . Management accepted the request and promised to try their level best to attend the AIC at Goa.
At the same time I discussed our core issues with the management.
(1) On the issue of wage of new DRTTA, I urged for the early conduction of committee meeting as promised in the recent National Council meeting. Management mentioned that till now no one has suggested suitable formula for the settlement of issue. So friends, we have to finalize the suitable formula. In my view we may draw the formula like this "Extension of 30% fitment benefit to all non executives employees joined up to the date of issue of non executives Wage Orders".
Pl Comment to finalize a suitable formula.
(2) On the issue of JTO departmental exam SNATTA registered their strong protest to management regarding non cooperation of Kerala BSNL management. The matter is sub-judice.
(3) On the issue of change of designation from TTA to JET, no meeting has taken place since a long. I have requested management for early settlement of issue. I hereby request our designation committee member Mr. Hakam Singh to take the initiative in this regard.
On the above issues I personally felt that BSNLEU has not taken up our issues seroiusly to settle our demands. We need to tighten their screws. A very serious discussion is required in our forthcoming AIC at Goa.

sir, thanks for your initiative.
but dont u think that its too late to respond by a National Union of BSNL
like yours.
*nobody is seriously taking up this issue (JTO LICE Exam)*, i guess if some
leader's son/daughter selected as a TTA and he/she remains TTA throughout
life (or say for some 10 years) then how it would be felt by him/her or
his/her family members.* Pls think even once from our point of view
considering the today's fast career progression scenario prevailing in all
companies. *
In other Indian PSU's or Nationalised Banks/Companies, the Career
progression is streamlined but in our case *BSNL Mgmt has not framed up
TTA's HR Policy yet.*
*
we all are very much dis-heartened* by the attitude of BSNL Mgmt. and BSNL
Unions in past and present, *even i am loss of words explaining the plight
of Young Engineers.*
So far, most of the energies of TTAs are totally wasted in discussions only.
They could have performed even better in their profiles if they knew that
they have a bright future in BSNL. *I can proudly say that today's TTAs are
the Limbs of BSNL without them BSNL cannot move properly. The services
rendered by them are unparalleled and applaudable.* Just to mention here
that Even our GS SNATTA is a Sanchar Shree Awardee which speaks volumes
about his achievements and dedication towards BSNL.
As per recent data available with us, BSNL's core services like Landline and
Mobile connections are on constant decline. *The only face saver for BSNL is
its Broadband services which are almost managed by the TTAs* in
Fields/MDF/Customer Premises and NIB.
The revenue generated by the Broadband is immense and BSNL can still claim
that they are NO.1 in atleast Broadband Services. The motivation and job
satisfaction can only be maintained when we get our dues in the form of *timely
Promotions and Pay Hikes*.
*i hope and wish that all our miseries come to an end soon and we get a JTO
LICE exam soon (atleast in circles where no diversion case/officiating JTOs
seat is pending).*

Faced with stiff competition from private players and the ever growing
popularity of mobile phones, telecom behemoth BSNL is feeling the pinch in its
landline phones business with a steady decline in revenues, owing to the steep
fall in its customer base.
In Punjab circle alone, revenues from landline users have fallen by Rs 67 crore
in the last two fiscals (2008-10) and the number of landline connections
continue to decline at a steady pace of almost two lakh a year. In the past
three years, BSNL has lost six lakh landline customers and this reverse trend is
not only restricted to home and office users only but the PCOs too.
According to statistics, revenue collection from landline connections in the
year 2008-09 was Rs 433.14 crore and it came down by 16 % in year 2009-10 to Rs
365.58 in the last fiscal. The total revenue collected by BSNL under various
heads, i.e landline, broadband, GSM, CDMA in 2008-09 was Rs 1,075.11 crore and
it fell to Rs 1,055.30 crore in the last fiscal.
Insiders admit that BSNL broadband services have proved to be a "life saver" for
the organisation as losses in revenue would have been much greater without it.
Broadband services have picked up in Punjab circle considerably in the last
three years as against 49,000 connections in 2008-09 and 59,000 connections in
the last fiscal, 41,000 new connections have been added in the current fiscal
till July."If volume decrease, revenue would automatically go down", says a
senior official of BSNL. He informed that on an average every year 2 lakh
subscribers are surrendering their landline phones.
The situation is no better this year. Between April and July 53,847 persons got
rid of their landline phones.
The officials, however, claim that subscription rate improved this year where
around 26,292 new connections were given.
At the same time, the number of PCO connections has also been declined. Almost
21,000 connections have been closed in past three fiscals (2007-08 to 2009-10)
against 7,426 new connections added during the same period.
Talking to The Tribune, SS Sirohi, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Punjab Circle,
said, "The dent in the wireline service is with the start of the mobile services
as they are more personalised, handy and available at low cost."

13. Unlimited Prepaid EVDO

In a radical move to boost the EVDO Data and Mobile services India's National
Telecom backbone Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) announced the pan-India Launch
of Unlimited Prepaid EVDO Plan with National Roaming facility (except
Mumbai/Delhi) over its CDMA mobile services. Earlier the Unlimited Plan was
available only with Postpaid service.
BSNL introduced new attractive Unlimited Downloads plan (Home and Roam) at
just Rs. 750 for its prepaid EVDO Data card subscribers across India. With the
promotional plan subscriber can access High speed wireless Internet with
unlimited Downloads-Uploads while on move across India.
The operator also unveiled 3 limited plans starts from Rs. 150 . Earlier with
the prepaid services the only Pay As per Use Plan was available with default
tariff of 5 paisa /100KB(50 paisa per MB) for data usage. BSNL EVDO data
card provide High speed wireless broadband service up to 3.1 Mbps.
BSNL EVDO Data Card Tariff in Details (Prepaid)-:
Cost of Prepaid RCV Free Data Usage Charges Beyond FREE Usage Validity
Rs. 150 500 MB (Home and Roam) Rs.1/MB 30 Days
Rs. 250 1 GB (Home and Roam) Rs.1/MB 30 Days
Rs. 500 2.5 GB (Home and Roam) 80p/MB 30 Days
Rs. 750 UNLIMITED (Home and Roam) NA 30 Days
Note-:
* The charges mentioned above will be automatically deducted from the account
balance available in the customer's prepaid account.
* The bundled free data usage is also applicable while in National Roaming
across India with in BSNL network.
* The bundled free usage is to be exhausted within the validity period of 30
days.
* No carry forward of un-utilized free data usage will be allowed after the
expiry of validity period.
* EVDO Roaming will be allowed in BSNL circles only.

14. Ericsson Deploys FTTH At Commonwealth Games Village 2010

Ericsson, the leading telecom solution and service provider has deployed its
most advancedbroadband technology Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) atthe
Commonwealth Games Village 2010 (CWGV) using Gigabit Passive Optical Network
(GPON) solution.
Radius Infratel, India's leading fixed broadband infrastructure is Ericsson's
partner for this project and has been entrusted with the responsibility for
onsite deployment of the GPON solution.
During the Commonwealth Games, Ericsson will be managing the network 24×7,
supporting the communication needs of 8000 dignitaries, athletes and team
officials staying in the village spread over an area of 63.5 hectare (158.4
acre) with 14 blocks, 34 towers, and 1,168 flats.The FTTH platform, supplied and
built by Ericsson and Radius will benefit the residents of the Village by
providing carrier class data, TV and communications (triple-play services), for
distribution of 36 Games specific channel (HD Format), video-on-demand and other
advanced entertainment services.
It will enable them to download data content at 100Mbps and access Wi-Fi in the
village campus and in training centre adjacent to the village. Automated
lighting and security services are also being made possible with Ericsson's
high-speed fiber access solution. Ericsson's Gigabit Passive Optical Network
(GPON) solution has been used as an open access solution enabling the players
and game officials to select services from an internet service provider of their
choice.

pls see the file attached for Motive Software implementation status till
20/09/2010.
because of lack of awareness and improper training among employees and
users, the motive is implemented in less than 0.8 % of the total Multiplay
motive capable modem connections.

On Twentieth February, 2010 in Malaysia a Power Line
Electric worker got up the power pole without appropriate precautions of
switching off the system first. By touching two wires carrying higher voltages
burnt himself to death, with current.
So be very careful with this electrical monster at home.When it comes to life
safety nothing can be ignored. Precautions, pictures are highly chilling.
