Re: [TTABSNL] CMTS Related



Hi!!!

I'm just thinking where to start from as you wrote in ur second mail that u r knowing nothing about it. Ok I'm giving you the shortcut. What I think you Ethernet port either is not configured or its down administratively. Let I assume the port is down.

 

Telnet the router if its on the network otherwise open it through console cable. You have to check it yourself as I'm not having the complete picture of your end.

 

After opening the user prompt would appear ( Router >)

Type Enable (Router>Enable)

This will ask for the password. Give the password if its asks

Now Prompt will change like this (Router #)

Give the following command

Router # show ip interface brief

Press Enter. This will show you the status of all the interfaces attached to your router.

Search for Ethernet Port 0/0 or 0/1 & check the status.

Both the port should be UP for normal working. If  any of  these down, the respective interface would not work.

Make the port UP by the following command.

Router # Config terminal

Router(Config)#

Router (Config)# interface fast Ethernet 0/0 or 0/1 (whichever is down)

Router (Config-if)# no shut

Press Enter and check the status again, if its UP then give the following command and check ur interface.

Router# write

Press Enter. It must be working now.

 

If it does n't work then there is definitely need to configure your port.

Hai , I have a problem while working with cisco 2811 router . There are two ports provided for ethernet but out of both only one is working second one is not.
