hi,
goto   start ->settings->network connections-> local area connection      or
start ->settings->control pannel ->network connections-> local area connection  ,      local area connection should be visible   then only u can say that lan is avoilable,   ok,
to see the icon (small two comp) just right click on local area connection-> properties->at the end  tick in the show icon in notification area when connected.
 
or     right click on my computer->manage->device manager->right side  network adaptors-> you will get some drivers in thatlike broadcom,or realtec etc  then only we can see the local area connection other wise drivers are not properly loaded.

Hi Good morning to all my friends. I had a small doubt regarding the LAN Icon in the system. I am unable to see the LAN Icon. The LAN card is there and it is in good condition. The LAN drivers are installed. In the network connections when i checked it is unavailable. Please reply for this problem.
