Dear ramkrishna,
recovery of EPF is against the EPF rules and if u remember EPFO india has asked BSNL to refund such amount. Against this BSNL has appealed to give it relaxation. U can also collect this information from the minutes of meeting of the recently held NCM. So outcome of the appeal will decide the future of these recovery deductions.
Any regarding ur query with regards to interest EPF office has made it very clear that interest will be calculated for the actual month for which the deduction is taken place and it will put a fine on the organisation for the delay in such cases. EPFO has clear intentions that employee shld not be in loss.
