State run telecom services operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has cancelled its tender for the roll-out of wireless broadband or WiMax technology in all the service areas where they have been given broadband wireless access spectrum except in the three circles of Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
"The WiMax roll-out has been cancelled in all the states except Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra and we have decided to seek fresh bids," a senior official from BSNL said, asking not to be named as he is not authorized to speak to the media.
The official said that the new tender would be finalized in the next two weeks.
