if u r getting the problem while configuring the modem means please follow the few steps;
 
> assign the ip address in the LAN
>otherwise goto command prompt
>type ipconfig /all
>  ipconfig /renew
>   ip config / release
now u have to assign the ip 192.168.1.10
gateway

1. assign the ip address in LAN connection
2. if again the 192.168.1.1 is not open then go to internet properties and delet cookies and delete files , go to SECURTIES and set the all icon on default level
3.if again 192.168.1.1 is not open then the internet explore may be faulty so windows to be format
